The atmosphere was welcoming, and I can't forget the perfectly cooked Ribeye steak I had at dinner, it was just right. the breakfast had a decent choice, and they served kippers, which made my morning great.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but you get what you pay for, and it was still acceptable.

The Double or Twin Room offered plenty of space, equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, and featured a comfortable, warm atmosphere perfect for a relaxing night. The food in the restaurant, particularly the homemade steak and stilton pie, highlighted the use of local produce and was well-executed.
The back entrance appears a bit scruffy, with loose carpet scraps creating a minor trip hazard near the kitchen. The pathways from the bar to the rooms could use a refresh, making them feel less inviting. While the breakfast selection was decent, it could benefit from more cereal choices. The night light in the bathroom seemed overly bright, overshadowing its practicality. noise from upstairs can disrupt sleep, and the lack of overnight staff presence raises security concerns—no direct oversight in case of disturbances from drunken guests. One night, someone even attempted to enter the room after hours, which added to the unease.

The Staunton Arms was a fantastic stay! My room was newly refurbished with a cozy vibe, featuring a comfortable bed and a modern en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was a real treat, with fresh ingredients cooked to perfection, especially the fried bread, which is hard to find these days.
The room was close to the kitchen, so it lacked privacy in the morning.

Great stopover with fab food
We had a chill night here. The room was super comfy and clean, and we didn't hear a peep from the kitchen, which was a nice surprise. Dinner was unreal – the pie was hands down one of the best I've had. Just wish the entrance area was more welcoming. the greasy mat isn’t a good look.

We had an amazing group getaway! Visited the local attractions and enjoyed some great hikes. The cozy room was perfect for us with its comfortable beds. The food was fantastic. breakfast and dinner were highlights. The staff made us feel super welcome and went out of their way to help us settle in.
Unfortunately, we had a few flies in the eating area and one flew into our room. It was a bit distracting during our stay, but we made the best of it.
